Keynote session between Ida Tin, a thought leader and the very person who coined the term Femtech, and Dr. Amina Sugimoto, CEO of fermata, where they introduce the current situation of the global femtech industry. The femtech sector is growing fast and has immense potential. We touch upon the various waves of femtech over the years, current hot topics and what needs to be addressed now in order to open up new opportunities and grow the global industry.

Clue Co-founder / former CEO
Co-founder, former CEO and current Chairman of Clue, a German menstrual cycle management app. Entrepreneur who coined the term 'Femtech', a cross between 'Female' and 'Technology', to show the market potential when raising funds. Ida, who is an integral part of the Femtech market, is visiting Japan for the first time for this event.
Amina Sugimoto (DrPH)
fermata Co-founder / CEO
Born in Asia, raised in Africa and educated in Europe: Amina comes from a very diverse and multicultural background, and her mission is in bringing about a paradigm shift in healthcare by promoting better access to healthtech across the globe. She obtained a Doctor of Public Health Degree in Health Economics at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and later moved back to Japan to assist the World Dementia Council in association with the Health and Global Policy institute. In 2017, she then joined a social impact-focused VC, Mistletoe Fund, based in Tokyo/Singapore, as their Healthcare Innovation Producer. Her specialisation is in health policy, Pharmaceutical Affairs laws and healthtech startup support. In 2019, she launched fermata, Inc., which now has become a leading FemTech ecosystem in Japan and Asia.

Learn about the current state of the domestic market in a collaborative session with some of the main organisations involved in the Japanese femtech scene, including Femtech Community Japan and Medical Femtech Consortium who are part of the Femtech Fes! Committee, and Daiko who are developing femtech products with other Japanese companies. Touching on things to keep in mind regarding pharmaceutical regulations when developing femtech products as well, this is a good opportunity to learn about market trends and seek new ways to innovate in Japan.

Our unmet needs are gradually built up in our daily lives. There are many ways to get rid of it, but sometimes it's hard to see how it's different from others... Femtech is now attracting attention for its ability to help you grasp the cause of problems by quantifying and visualising various data about your body. We ask Ai Takahashi how she deals with her mind and body on a daily basis, while also learning about the latest femtech.

Born 1986, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. She was a member of Morning Musume's 5th term for 10 years, and was the 6th leader of the group, as well as the leader of Hello! Project.
In 2011, she became a 'Fukui Brand Ambassador'. Since graduating from the group, she has worked as an actor in musicals, plays, and dramas. She is expanding her activities by starting a modeling career and launching her brand.
Chiho Watanabe
Chief editor of GINGER published by Gentosha.
She has worked for women's fashion magazines such as 25ans and Ray for 34 years, focusing on beauty. She has also worked on books such as Beautifying Beauty by Megumi Kanzaki and I AMU HARUNA, a style book by Haruna Kawaguchi. Recently, she has also been in charge of “Nurture Your Own Actress Small Face” by director Yoshizumi Yamaguchi, a skeletal correction critic who is extremely popular with actresses who are refining their beauty, such as Norika Fujiwara and Minami Tanaka.

Tetsuya Hiramoto joined Kodansha in 2010. After working in the weekly magazine editorial department, he has been a member of the ViVi editorial department since 2015. He launched "ViVi National Treasure Ranking of Good-looking Men" and has been in charge of numerous video tie-up projects featuring male artists.
In June 2022, he was appointed chief editor of NET ViVi, where he focuses on disseminating empowerment projects for Generation Z and FemTech FemCare projects.
