[Fullmoon girl: The first menstrual cup brand from Asia!]
Fullmoon girl, launched in 2017, is the world's first menstrual cup brand from Asia. It was created by Vanessa, who was born and raised in Taiwan.
In 2013, at the age of 28, she founded Taiwan's first domestic tampon company. In 2015, she announced her idea for the Fullmoon girl menstrual cup online, and quickly raised funds through crowdfunding. Until then, European and American menstrual cups were mainstream, but many Asian women found them difficult to use, and many were looking for a new cup designed for Asian body types.
Fullmoon girl hopes that all women will be able to freely choose the menstrual products that are right for them.
[Fullmoon Disc: A new sanitary item]
From the pioneering Asian menstrual cup brand "Fullmoon girl" comes the menstrual disc, "Fullmoon Disc"!
Similar to "Fullmoon girl," "Fullmoon Disc" was developed with support gathered through crowdfunding in Taiwan.
Many may be wondering, what exactly is a "menstrual disc"?
A menstrual disc is a menstrual product inserted beneath the cervix, deeper than the vaginal opening. Unlike menstrual cups, which are worn close to the vaginal opening, discs fit around the cervix, leaving the area near the vaginal opening clear. This results in less discomfort during use and is comfortable for those with shorter vaginas.
Once inserted, it's so comfortable that you barely feel it. It's also recommended for those who have experienced discomfort with menstrual cups.
It might seem difficult to insert something deep inside near the cervix, but with a little practice, it can be easily inserted.
First, please clean your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Since you'll be inserting it into your vagina, cleanliness is of utmost importance.
Pinch the rim of the disc tightly with your thumb and forefinger to form a figure-eight shape. Although the disc appears large when open, when folded into a figure-eight for insertion, it becomes as compact as a tampon.
Then, in a relaxed position (often sitting on a toilet or in the bathroom), insert it into your vagina. When the rim is positioned against your pubic bone, the disc will naturally open inside and fit around your cervix, allowing it to collect menstrual blood.
The deeper you go into the vagina, the less sensation there is, so even when the disc opens inside, there is no sensation of it opening, no discomfort, and no feeling of insertion.
When inserting, it is more compact than a menstrual cup, and it sits deeper than a menstrual cup, so many people find insertion and wear more comfortable than with a menstrual cup, and some who found menstrual cups difficult have found discs to be a better fit.
You can also engage in water activities, sex, or use the restroom while wearing the disc. To remove it, in a relaxed position similar to insertion, insert a finger into your vagina and hook your finger into the grip (ring-shaped notch) or pinch it and gently pull it out.
Once you get the hang of it, many people find menstrual discs easier to remove than menstrual cups, as you can simply hook a finger into the rim with one hand, rather than pinching the entire body.
[Features of Fullmoon Disc]
① Made from 100% medical-grade silicone, reusable!
Made from medical-grade silicone, it's safe and secure for your body. Medical-grade silicone is also highly durable and can be reused for up to 10 years with proper care, making it economical and environmentally friendly.
② Comfortable fit!
The Fullmoon Disc's rim has appropriate stiffness and tension, but it can be easily reshaped by pinching it with your fingers.
The body is thin and soft, while the rim is sturdy, making the disc easy to insert, easy to open inside, and functional for a comfortable, non-intrusive fit.
③ Easy removal with three grips!
The non-slip rim and three grips are a unique design of the Fullmoon Disc, making removal easy.
To remove it, in a relaxed position similar to insertion, insert a finger into your vagina and hook your finger into the rim or pinch it and gently pull it out.
If the disc is difficult to remove, try bearing down slightly as if having a bowel movement; you should feel the disc slowly move. Take your time and gently remove the disc.
④ Long-lasting use!
It can be worn for up to 12 hours, making it ideal for times when you can't access a restroom for extended periods, or for leisure activities like travel or swimming.
⑤ With measuring lines!
The disc has measuring lines on the body, allowing you to visibly monitor your menstrual flow. This helps you track changes in your health and manage your well-being.
⑥ "Auto-dumping" to release menstrual blood while inserted
"Auto-dumping" is a technique where, when using the toilet, you lean forward and gently bear down on your lower abdomen, causing the disc inside the vagina to tilt and release the accumulated menstrual blood.
This allows you to release accumulated menstrual blood at your own timing without removing the disc.
The Fullmoon Disc Regular has a capacity of approximately 53ml, which is sufficient for collecting menstrual blood, but if you're concerned about the cup becoming full while out, give it a try.
However, after auto-dumping, a small amount of menstrual blood may remain near the vaginal opening. When performing auto-dumping, please use a sanitary pad or absorbent underwear in conjunction.
⑦ Enjoy self-pleasure and sex during menstruation!
Pleasure during menstruation has been shown to reduce abdominal pain, headaches, back pain, diarrhea, and breast pain. The term "menstrubation" (a combination of "masturbation" and "menstruation") has been coined, and efforts are underway to encourage women to enjoy pleasure during menstruation with the same hygienic considerations as always. The Fullmoon Disc is a menstrual product that can be used during menstrubation.
[Fullmoon Disc is available in 2 sizes]
Small is recommended for those with shorter vaginas or light to normal menstrual flow.
Regular is recommended for those with normal to heavy menstrual flow.
